One of my doctors was so touched today when I went for my follow up appointment. She thanked me for the thank you card and she said that simple cards like that to healthcare workers means so much more to them than just money a lot of times… She said she was taking photos of my card and showing the staff. 😊
I talk so fast around her when trying to tell so much because we have a little bit of time at appointments but a lot to say lol She has become like a second sister. …My story about how I had prayed for countless months to be healed and how my spirit led me to her.. (the only doctor after 6 months of 2 previous opinions) I am a black woman with Creole descent and so is she. Sadly I thought the reason other doctors didn’t take my situation serious was because I was in the minority and when I choose her she could relate. ..bc this is also something that was common in African American women. She knew how to permanently stop the reason for my loss of blood cells with a simple solution that had saved my future and my future generation.
It was so inspiring; to her, myself and a few others I shared that part of my life with..
I won’t reveal her name yet until I am ready to one day tell everything I went through…the entire story! One day I will tell of this full blessed testimony of how God can lead you to the right people in life to help with you with things that seemed impossiable and when others said no…even when it took 3 opinions like it did with me 😊..as of now I am thankful, overwhelmed and happy. 😊
Take your dog on healthy morning walks. Don’t keep them cooped up. My boy will be 12 in 5 more months and I have been walking him daily ever since he was a pup. Judging from this photo of our morning walk, he was so happy and smiling as the autumn wind blew through his fur. 😂🐾
It’s important to give them walks; as it makes them smile and brings joy to their little hearts. I have this belief that walking adds longevity to your life. When you walk your dog, you are helping them to live longer and add more years to their life.
Let walking be your dog’s medicine from nature and their mental therapy that relieves any stress. Walking your dog is good for their bones because their bones is what keeps them moving and increases healthy blood flow. (for a long life.)
The food I feed my dog is Blue Buffalo Life Protection Formula. For some reason, he prefers their puppy brand over their adult brand. 🤷♀️🤦♀️ 😂 Hmmm 🤔 perhaps because he is a small breed. I sometimes mix the small pieces of lean chicken or cocktail beef weiners into his kibble to add more variety and flavor. The way I do this is by adding miniature sizes into his dog food. Don’t feed your dog constant table food or bones if you want them to live longer. (giving them a chicken bone will harm their intestines!)
Don’t forget to make sure they have a healthy digestion. By doing this, you can detect if his/her stool shows he is constipated or healthy. Constipated stool will appear hard, small and round while healthy stool is rich in color and looks smooth. If their stool is runny, it could be due to bacteria. I know it may seem awkward to look at your dog’s poop, but sometimes it’s needed.
Ohh one other thing, dogs can catch a stomach bug too, did you know that? When this happens, sometimes I’d rub my dog’s back and take him outdoors to get some air incase he really has to release a load lol The best thing to do is talk with your vet if you notice a sudden change in your dogs stool because it is a sign of their health and what’s going into their bodies. Reward your furbabies with dog toys and treats because it uplifts their mood. Hearing a squeeky toy and playing fetch makes them feel so much high vibration.
Stay up to date on their medications and shots!!!
🌞 MR SUN! SUN! MR GOLDEN SUN!! Keeping the curtains open in the daytime is good for your dog. Why is this? because dogs love to sit in the sun and it gives them a feel of enjoying the outside. Dogs are naturally meant for being outdoors, so keep a little bit of the outdoors with them if they are living indoors. Sunlight brightens a dogs mood. It makes them rest, relax and it also brings them energy because it is a good source of vitamin D.
Taking your dog for a ride in your vehicle with the window down really excites them too and brings them happiness. TRY IT, but be careful so they won’t jump out the window. 😂 Nothing makes me happier than seeing my dog wind surfing on the passenger’s side looking at the traffic from the window. 😂
Sometimes dogs can suffer from being anti social so arrange playdates from time to time with other dogs or just take him to the park to at least walk by other dogs. Sometimes when dogs sniff each other, it’s a gesture of them being social to each other and yes, it brings them joy. Ever notice how dogs are so excited when they see other dogs? lol
Most importantly, be sure to keep your dog groomed and make regular checkups with your vet.
As crazy as this may sound, I talk to my dog and it gives us a bond. What’s funny is that, the more I talk to him (privately lol) the more he understands the English terms 😂 seriously!!! He understands so much..
Communicating with your dog and boosting their ego, telling them they are good boys and good girls actually encouragea them to feel good and releases the dopamine hormone- (rub their heads while greeting them causes them wag their tail) TRY IT!
Don’t forget to be happy and show positivity around their dog. Did you know that they can detect low vibration from you? If I am sad or in a bad mood, my dog will notice that and stare at me for a long time. If he sees that I am not feeling up to par, he starts to feel or behave sadly too. lol He is good with comforting me which I think it sweet and healthy on my end as far as being a human. 😂 If my sweet but sometimes annoying mom 😂🤦♀️ and I have our little mother/daughter rants he will go in the other room because he doesn’t like to hear any bickering. 😂 TRUST ME! So I prefer keeping my energy positive around my dog. Mom if you are reading this, don’t be grumpy around the dog. 😂
Well, I hope these tips and gestures will be as helpful for you and your furbabies as they are for me. They are dog-mommy approved by me and I have been living by it for years with my dog, making it our lifestyle. Now go out and give your fur-baby a hug and just be thankful for them. They make our lives happy and we should do the same for them.
I told my mama that she and my dad should join the senior citizens workout class at the hospital and she cussed me out and said, “sh*t, yo dad ain’t gonna do that! He don’t even move around at his own damn house.” 🤦♀️😂😂😂
I walk at the park each day and she keeps saying she will join me, but of course it’s either too hot or too cold.
For over a year I have asked her to walk with me and the dog down our street… she says she isn’t in the mood and does enough yard work as it is lol 🤦♀️😂 🤔 She did walk with the kids (my niece and nephew) to Burger King to treat them out for breakfast lol Doesn’t count.
Sigh. When you try to get your mother to be more physically active, but she prefers to stay in bed and watch old cowboy westerns 😂 She is a very strong woman for her age though. She can push refrigerators and sofas to get things out from under them lol
I always try to push my mom to get some sort of of exercise. Sometimes if she has me to take her to the store, I’ll park further off in the parking lot (sometimes) so she can get in a quick workout 😂
I think it is important to get your parents or grandparents active physically. If you want them to be around longer, it shouldn’t be a question. Continue to check up on them and their health. Don’t forget to always ask if they are taking needed medications and getting their vitamins; even if you annoy them. I like to joke to my mom that I will check her into Shady Pines Retirement home 😂 (The retirement home that Sophia wasn’t so fond of from The Golden Girls 😂)
Tell me your funny stories of how you get your parents, grandparents to get active?
Ummm 🙄 I wasn’t expecting to get my waist this tiny, but that’s only because I’m trying to bulk up by New Years. I had to clean up and tighten a little before building more bricks to my temple 💪💪
I got rid of belly fat… now to get ripped and she-bulk…which means earlier mornings in the gym 🤪 I am not an early- bird, but I read that starting your workouts in the morning will give you more of a positive day. ☀️ I haven’t even had coffee for two mornings and I am already feeling all the feels.
Before I lost the unwanted fat, I was eating lots of bread and adding heavy grease to my cooking. I can remember being so bloated and that screwed up my mood and comfortability. Phew. So I made a few changes to my diet and worked out real hard. The 21 day fix was what got rid of my unwanted fat on my belly. TRY IT!
I ALSO went plant based but I can’t seem to get off of it. I think that helped with all this boost to my mood, but that’s another blog. 🤗
