Maybe She Was An Angel…

Have you ever had a friendly connection with certain people because of their energy and their vibe? They’re the kind of people that make you say, to them, “I love your energy!” because it’s what they pass along and spread to you. The next thing you know, you are in a good feeling because of them. These are the kind of people/friends you need in your life to have a positive life. That kind of experience happened to me last year.

Last summer, I would always see this elderly lady at the park getting in her miles a day. She’d always carry a stick with her and walk for what seemed like hours. She’d walk by me and smile a gentle smile everytime. One morning my car wouldn’t start. As I was sitting in the car she came up to me and asked if I needed help. I didn’t know the reason why my car wouldn’t start but she popped open my hood and told me my battery had died and that she would jump it for me. Relieved and embarassed at the same time, I thanked her. She went on to tell me the story of how she learned things from her husband and the good ole days. Moments later, a few minutes of chatting with her became an hour of laughing in conversation in the parking lot.

She told me her name was Lily and that she walks from 8am until 10am almost every morning. She told me she was in her seventies and that walking helped with her blood pressure and diabeties. I told her that my mom had the same issue and she said, “Yes, well she definitely needs to start walking.”

Later, I ended up getting my mom to walk with me and she started to feel brand new and was glad I talked to her into it. Had it not been for Mrs. Lily my mom wouldn’t have gotten the courage with me to walk. (I had been asking her for years to go on walks with me lol)

A new year came and I had gotten a new car. I would continue to go to the park and inhale the fresh air over the cascading lake, but my sweet Mrs. Lily was no where to be found. I would say a silent prayer that she was okay and that I’d meet her again one day. One evening as I was walking, I was hoping I’d walk by her. (I was losing hope that I ever would see her again.) Somehow, I noticed a lady that looked like Mrs. Lily, but she was thinner and had a grey afro. She smiled at me with that familiar gentle smile and I gasped saying, “Mrs. Lily?! Is that you?” 😊 I was so happy to see my friend again and she was happy to see me too. I explained to her how I always hoped to see her again and she told me she started coming to walk at 6am with a few friends. We caught up for a few minutes, but I really wished it was longer. We said our see you laters and went our own way…hoping to have another friendly encounter with each other again. That was the last time I saw her and I’ll never forget her. I wish I had asked for a way to stay connected with her, but I didn’t want to seem creepy lol

I would question if Mrs Lily were an angel because I never ran into her anymore since then. She had this grey hair like white snow and had that grandmotherly feeling. Sometimes just talking to her instantly made me vibrate high and she was filled with high vibrational energy. Well, angels are known to vibrate high. Unfortunatly you never run into these people again and sometimes you do.

Why is that?

No one knows.

Maybe she was an angel. πŸ˜‡

Men See You How You SEE Yourself. So Work On You

If you want a man to treat you like a queen, I believe you must already see yourself as a queen and already see yourself as class. I am in my 30s and I didn’t realize this secret until my mid 20s. Lol I would be like, “why am I getting treated like I am less?” Because I was always so nice to give more than I was giving. In other words, “settling” and not realizing I was worthy. When people see you DON’T act worthy of yourself, they will feel they don’t have to put in much effort.

It’s all about how you treat yourself for them to know what kind of woman they are dealing with. You don’t even have to tell men what makes you happy sometimes, but it’s obvious by how you carry yourself.

If they offer you something you don’t want to do yet (for example, have sex on the first night and not go on a date) then you just have to go with your gut on how you truly feel, not his.

Going with your gut will get you further and more respect. More respect will give you better treatment, attention and better dates instead of booty calls. I try to preach this to women/young women all the time. If you settle for little then you will receive little in return.

If you know you want more in a relationship, then stop giving in to what you aren’t happy with. Let’s say he wants to you to meet him at his place for Netflix and chill, but deep down you want more than that. You want nice dinners, gifts and walks on the beach, meet his family, selfies and warm phone calls etc. However, you think telling him that will run him away so you settle for his way , right?

I believe if you put value on yourself then you’ll be respected more. Would you feel proud receiving a diamond if it were $20.00 or if it were $20,000.00? Immediatly, you wouldn’t care much about the diamond if the price was $15.00, but if you paid $20,000.00 for it then I’m sure you’d treat it like a child. You’d take extra care of it and would go crazy if something happened to it, right?

That is how I feel us women should see ourselves ….like something valuable and worthy. πŸ’Ž When we feel that way about who we are then others will too. Never settle to be treated like a $3.00 value meal when you’re a full course meal. You have so much to offer….you are NOT a snack.

Stay Active Through Your Pain

Look what I found WOW! This is 19 or 20 year old me…in my sophmore dormitory back in college. Lol I think my sophmore year was my best time there, as you can see lol. I was hiding so much pain behind my smile and had finally gained some of the strength back I had lost from my freshmen year. Freshmen year, I had lost soooo much self love and confidence after I was sexual abused at a college party. It took years to rebuild myself… I can remember sometimes not feeling like I fit in with so many girls there because they would insult me, pick on me and hurt my feelings. I was always a nice person and people would be so mean to me back then and I can remember letting it get to me..NEVER worry about who doesn’t like you. That is a waste of your time and energy.Β  I did things to keep me going. I always stayed inΒ  beauty pageants to keep my confidence high and I would act in lead parts in the college drama club. Those were the best moments I wouldn’t trade for the world because it showed me that I had fun times with great people after a dark experienceΒ  ❀🧑 That is what I encourage you to do today. Be active and participate in things to remind yourself that you are a queen. You’re gonna need the confidence ❀
