I am all about self care and as a woman I feel it’s in our birthright to ALWAYS enduldge in the method of pampering. Growing up, I’d see women walk in and out of the salons and their skin would be so flawless. I can remember admiring their beauty and hoping to treat myself the way they did one day.
So here I am now, this grown woman at the age of 34 who is probably the age those women were when I was that tomboyish little girl curious about beauty. I am now the self care addict.
A friend of mine from Charleston mentioned a business that sells all natural self care products and I was like, “Girl, share the details!”
Goodoo Self Care is on my list of favorite shops on Etsy.com and honey, when I tell you that they have a virtual spa on their shop I’m not lying. I saw so many scrubs and facials to choose from. I immediatly added the Wake Up coffee scrub. (because now that I no longer induldge in the taste of coffee anymore against my pink taste buds 😭 my skin consumes it for me.). It wakes my skin up IMMEDIATLY; especially during the mornings when the weather is cold. HELLLLOOOO 🥶
Let’s face it, sometimes we can make a mess when making our home beauty products. I am glad that Goo Doo already has these items prepared and with a little more love. 💗 To check out their lovely shop, visit their Etsy shop listed below. Your skin will thank you! I know mine sure did
A lot of people ask why I never curse (cuss)..even when I was working at Blue Cross Blue Sheild they’d ask me. lol I’m okay if my friends do it because it’s funny and we crack up. I’ll cuss to myself, but I never cuss around people and I don’t cuss on my posts. lol I may get by with “damn” or “hell” from time to time 😂 but I don’t use the “S” word or the “F” word or the “B” word. I let the characters in my books use them. 😂😂😂 You may say not cussing is just as dry as a person who doesn’t have a fun drink on the weekend or a cheat meal during a diet (I am a sinner to those two pleasures. I surrender!!! lol) Although I dressed like a boy growing up, (so mama put me in a lot of beauty pageants to get me more girly lol) I was always raised that cussing and being loud is not feminine and is a masculine trait..so I don’t really do it.
If my friends do it, I laugh and I’m fine with it 😂 very normal and I don’t judge. I was told a curse is a curse lol
Here is a secret, I always found that men pursued me a lot when I never cussed or acted loud too. In high school and college, other girls did that and I’d feel left out because I didn’t know how to cuss in a cool way. When I did, they’d laugh at me because of how I talked lol. My mama always made sure we came across as respectful and it showed from home training. My sister and I were very quiet girls. 🙂 and my niece is the same too….except I’d get in fist fights with boys in elementary, jr high and high school 😂😂😂 My mama always said to never hit anyone until they hit me first. Yes, that is the only time I’d come out of my sweet charm. (I just didn’t cuss!) 😂😂😂
So when I tell you I simply love this dress I SIMPLY love this dress! Not only is it a dress, but it’s a swim suit cover up. There are times when I go to the beach and don’t want to have all the attention drawn to my curvaceous assets so this comes in handy a great deal.
I was sent this sexy little number from a company called Haute Swim Wear. Their clothing brand has swim suits, bikinis and cover ups so go check them out. I love the feel of this dress. It’s light weight and a bit see through so be sure to wear a slip underneath if you are wearing it as a dress and wear your bikini or bathing suit under if wearing it as a cover up at the beach or pool.
The feel is sheer and it has a v- neck plunging neckline with the stretchy material at the waist. (you know, the material that shows off those curves and gives you that shape.) The BEST thing about this dress is that one size fits most!
I had looked online for what seemed like hours for the perfect hat to rock with this dress so the universe showed me a company called Lime Lush. I quickly made my purchase and once it arrived, I paired the hat with the dress and realized the shaded colors screamed of lemonade on the front porch in the afternoon.
As women, we all want to feel feminine and fresh; nothing tops it off than a simple breezy dress. When Sincere Sally Boutique sent me this dress, my heart dropped as I opened the packaging. I rushed to put it on and instantly imagined myself showing it off in public. The cool fabric against my skin made me thought of a windy day at the park with some ice cream. The pink color of the dress gave a hint of summer and spring time; this is great to wear during those seasons. The warm pink color could also get by in autumn too, but since it has a flower pattern I would let it stay in the categories of summer and spring.
The sandals to wear with this dress will have to be white, a warm pink or a woodsy brown. Since this dress makes me feel carefree, I believe the sandals will give the perfect style and grace for that added touch.
I don’t know how I could skip not adding a bag with this dress, but I’d consider something small because this is a light styled dress. (Let’s leave the big bags for the loud clothes, ladies. lol)
Feeling confident in this Bianca dress wasn’t hard to do. I put it on and stormed out the door as heads turned and cameras snapped. Add it to your cart and you won’t be disappointed, ladies.
Beautiful acts of kindness can happen anywhere. At a bus stop, at the mall, the nail salon or randomly at a Captain D’s drive thru.
💟Aww the cashier at Captain D’s (very young girl maybe early 20s) told me my lashes were pretty. I’m always the one giving women compliments, but this time a sweet girl was kind enough to bless me with a compliment. 😊
💟I thanked her and told her that New York Nails hooked me up..she was shocked. I love to see women help and encourage other women on their beauty and their looks. I always believe self care is the best medicine for self love and confidence; with that, you have no time to envy or be in a bad mood because looking good makes you feel good.
💟I am glad that I was able to pass along that information for her. She was a very beautiful girl but nothing is ever wrong with wanting to get more beautiful if you want to for you 😉 I don’t believe women should let themselves go or feel the only time to be pretty or feel pretty is when they have someone in their life. It’s okay to flatter yourself and get comfortable with you.
💟💟What’s important is that women should do this act of kindness more often with each other. Too many of us are afraid to compliment each other and fix each other’s crown. It makes you feel good to give these small gestures and receive small gestures, but the outcome is REAL BIG with what was poured in and from your heart.
If I stay up a little later than I should and wake up to dark circles, I have a “number 1” go to that I use. This “go to” makes it look like I got 20 hrs of sleep. 😂 Okay, so here is my secret: the Born This Way concealer by Too Faced Cosmetics is my life saver. This concealer has the best coverage for hiding under eye circles and blemishes.
Recently I joined the Ulta bandwagon just like your favorite YouTube beauty gurus. (although I am not a youtube beauty guru. 😂) The concealer also sculpts for a contouring finish. (YAY!!! You can’t beat that)
There are so many different shades and the shade of concealer I have here is in the color Maple.
I like making women feel good about their appearance and being helpful to uplift their confidence. I feel if we do this, maybe the world will be free of haters because we’ll be inspiring each other when we help each other. Maybe I’m just too nice. 🤷♀️ I’ve never had any interest in being a hater or putting other women down. I would often wonder if that meant I was not normal lol I’m always admiring or being motivated by women that are doing great things or looking amazing.
I was telling a very sweet woman how I lost weight because she couldn’t believe I was over 200lbs last year. Yesterday, this cashier in WalMart wanted to know how I defined my eyebrows. I was holding up the line going into detail to show her how I do my brows and what I use. They were both very thankful for the information I gave them.
Never hold back from educating other queens on health and beauty, they may not know much of it or afraid to ask. Everyone deserves to look and feel beautiful. No woman shouldn’t feel insecure about her appearance. Take care of yourself 100% and help another queen blossom.
